Dear Ada,
It is true what you heard. I have been at the city square every day, protesting for #saveourlives. I am sad and mad at the injustice directed at us in the land. I got your message and I was very disappointed in you. I did not expect that I would have to tell you to stand up for us- to stand up for justice. I was disappointed by the excuse you gave. Yes, on a normal day it could pass as a reasonable excuse but we are in trying times.
Do you think God put you in your position just to sit and look pretty? I raised you better than this, Ada. If you believe in God, then I expect you to believe He orchestrates events. The injustice, your impressionable husband, your culture and current position- He worked it all out! In whatever position you find yourself, you should always think about how you can bring glory to God and shine your light. No more hiding who you are. It’s time to act and damn the consequence. If your action fails, at least you’d be satisfied you tried.
I would like to believe you are still the same humble and kind-hearted girl I raised. I will like to believe your new status and comfort haven’t changed you. But if after my urgent plea, you still decide to do nothing about the injustice we experience in this land, then help will come from elsewhere. Do you think God is limited in His choices of means of deliverance? Yet if we will be destroyed, don’t dare think you will be spared because of your privilege. Darling, we will all go down! Every single one of us. But once again, I remind you that God put you in this position for this current situation.
Dear Ada, I have never written to you in this manner but I want you to know I seek the best for you. I hope you will do the right thing Hadassah. I hope you will.
Still yours,
Uncle Mo
